Dave Curtiss
Interim Lead Pastor
Beginning his career in local church youth ministry, Dave eventually led Youth Ministry for the Church of the Nazarene in USA and Canada. After several stints as a Lead Pastor, he became a USA Director for Christian Veterinary Mission, eventually being promoted to the $162MM international nonprofit parent organization (CRISTA Ministries) as a Vice President. After many years in executive roles with large international nonprofits, Dave joined a for-profit senior living management company eventually becoming their CEO. Executive leadership roles over 30 years helped shape Dave’s understanding and skills as a leader in the business world. The worlds of local church ministry, not-for-profit and for-profit unite perfectly in the role as Interim Pastor.
Dave and his wife, Jennifer, together they have five children, two daughters and three sons. They enjoy all the Central Coast has to offer with its beaches, being close to the mountains while spending time with family.
Jenene Watkins
Family Life Pastor
Jenene grew up in Sothern Oregon. She and her husband, Bud and daughter Raylyn, relocated to California in 1985.
Jenene came to the El Morro church from Glendora, Calif. in 2004. Her passion is to lead others to Jesus and watch what happens. Jenene ministers to our children, leads woman’s Bible studies and is involved with social events in the church.
Jenene received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Cal State Northridge, and her Masters of Divinity at Northwest Nazarene University.
She loves vintage and antique hunting – the older, the better, and hanging with her Golden Doddle, Pebbles.
Her favorite verse is Philippians 4:13: I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
