Daren Pitcher has served as our Lead Pastor for about 3 years.  He and his wife, Amy grew-up in the area and are thrilled to be back.  After graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University, Daren spent a number of years as a youth pastor in various locations including Pismo Beach.  At one point, Daren also taught middle school in Boyle Heights.  Daren’s previous pastorates led him to planting a church in San Diego followed by 14 years of pastoring in Bakersfield.  Daren and Amy have two sons, Dawson (recently graduated from PLNU) and Noah (currently attending Cal Poly).  Daren loves to surf and has coached volleyball and golf for a number of years, including currently coaching the girls golf team at Morro Bay High School.

Jenene grew up in Sothern Oregon. She and her husband, Bud and daughter Raylyn, relocated to California in 1985. 

Jenene came to the El Morro church from Glendora, Calif. in 2004. Her passion is to lead others to Jesus and watch what happens. Jenene ministers to our children, leads woman’s Bible studies and is involved with social events in the church. 

Jenene received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Cal State Northridge, and her Masters of Divinity at Northwest Nazarene University.

She loves vintage and antique hunting – the older, the better, and hanging with her Golden Doddle, Pebbles. 

Her favorite verse is Philippians 4:13: I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
