Unlikely Messenger

The Lord said to Moses, “Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses…” Exodus 3:12-14

Sometimes we wrongly assume that when God calls us to go or speak, that it is a suggestion rather than a command. Like Moses, all of the “what-if’s” take over and we pray that God would choose someone else to do what he has called us to do. We think to ourselves, “Surely there must be someone better qualified to be God’s spokesperson.” But God’s response to Moses should cause us to think twice before we delay or disregard God’s call to go or speak on His behalf. What might God be calling you to do? To whom might God be calling you to share His message? Just something to think about…
