Rooted Lives, Thriving Church: Vocation

January 13, 2026

In this message from the "Rooted Living, Thriving Church" series, the focus turns to vocation, reminding us that our daily work—whether paid or unpaid, fulfilling or frustrating—is sacred when rooted in Christ. Drawing from Colossians 3:23–24, the sermon challenges the divide between “spiritual” and “secular,” affirming that Jesus is Lord over every part of our lives, including the inbox, the classroom, the job site, and the kitchen. Work is not a post-Fall punishment but a part of our original design to reflect God’s image through cultivating, stewarding, and serving. Even in a broken world, where thorns and tension mark our labor, the gospel redeems work by placing it inside God’s larger story of renewal. Through integrity, diligence, and unseen faithfulness, we offer our work as worship, not for human approval but in service to Christ. A thriving church is not just a Sunday gathering but a people who carry Jesus into every space they inhabit, living as rooted disciples wherever they live, work, learn, and play.
