The Jesus Mission
This sermon casts a compelling vision for living out the mission of Jesus by becoming a blessing to those around us. Grounded in the calling of Abraham (Genesis 12) and embodied in the life of Jesus—especially His encounter with Zacchaeus—the message reminds us that we are not just recipients of God’s grace, but participants in His redemptive plan. Through the church’s local slogan, “For the love of God and the people of the Coast,” we are invited to reflect on our purpose: to love, bless, and serve our neighbors. Using the B.L.E.S.S. practices—Begin with Prayer, Listen, Eat, Serve, and Story—the sermon gives practical steps for moving from passive hope to active help. It ends with a call to remember how we’ve been blessed and to respond with simple, intentional acts of love. We are not buckets meant to store blessings, but rivers meant to share them—blessed to be a blessing.
