When Empty Becomes Holy

This message reminds us that when life feels overwhelming and we believe we do not have enough strength, faith, hope, or resources to keep going, that is often the very place where God begins His greatest work. Through the story of Elisha and the widow’s small jar of oil in 2 Kings chapter 4, we see that God specializes in using surrendered emptiness to display His power and provision. The sermon challenges us to stop focusing on what we lack, release fear, pride, and control, and instead trust God with what little we have. It calls believers into honest dependence on God and authentic community with others, ultimately pointing to Jesus Christ as the One who is more than enough for our weakness, our sin, and our deepest needs. The final two songs should be about surrender or related to that topic as an invitation to respond as God leads.
